An Innovative Car Insurance Contest
Every car insurance company strives to lessen the risks associated with a car accident. That explains why car insurers have put their support behind efforts to encourage the use of seat belts. Insurance agents know that seat belts save lives.
In spite of the publicized facts about seat belt safety, a number of adults refuse to use such devices. They insist on driving around without first buckling their seat belt. Their insistence on such bad behavior has led car insurers to develop a new promotional campaign.
The most important details about that promotional campaign have appeared in a magazine published by one insurance company-Geico. Their Fall/Winter 2009 issue invites young people to win an added bit of cash. That cash goes to the winners of a planned contest.
The contest that has become the focus of a magazine article is an ongoing poster and video contest. One challenge faces any person who enters that contest. He or she needs to create either a poster or video presentation that points out the safety features of a seat belt.
Pictures of a few of the winning posters in past contests have been included in the magazine article. The car insurance company that sponsors the contest liked the caricature in the poster made by Brandon Kim. Kim’s portrait has been placed next to the poster that he created for an earlier contest.
In large letters above that car, he printed these words: “Buckle Up.” A phrase placed below that car said, “Be Safe.” The thin publication with his winning entry shows Kim’s smiling visage as well.
A second picture shows the grand prize winner in the category of “computer generated posters.” No picture hints at what judges hope to see in any video entry. This is the first year that the contest has included that extra category.
Despite the “mystery” surrounding the expectations for the entered videos, car insurance agents can assume that each contestant is sure to acquire a marked awareness of seat belt safety.
